On September 26, 2017
the 40 year celebrations of The City School
started at
Darakhshan Campus with a big bang when the Prep Boys Section organized a “Mathematics
Carnival”. The aim of this event was to promote the relevance of Mathematics in
our everyday lives and to strengthen the entrepreneurial and problem solving
skills of the students and also to inculcate the values of team work, cooperation,
tolerance, responsibility and honesty.
This event was
solely organized by the students under the supervision of the teachers.
Students formed groups and put up food & games stalls of their own choice.
The students were highly motivated, and exhibited enthusiasm, confidence and team
spirit. It provided them with an opportunity to practically apply the concepts
which they have already learnt in their Maths classes and enabled them to
construct new understanding of the real world.
The whole
ground reverberated with energy and the “Songs on request” added to the fun
filled atmosphere. The students not only got to eat savory food but had fun on
the stalls like Lucky Draw, photo booth, PS4. The most in demand were the Slam
Dunk game and Jumping Castle.
This was a charity event where all the
proceeds collected will be donated to help out the less privileged students of
a charity organization.
