CARNIVAL 2016
The students of Prep Boys Section organized a Maths
Carnival on Friday,18th
November 2016 during the school timings.
The aim of this
event was to promote the relevance of Mathematics in our everyday lives and to
strengthen the entrepreneurial and problem solving skills of the students. The
students were asked to form groups and put up food & games stalls of
their own choice. They integrated this activity with the topic of
“Profit & Loss” by maintaining an account of their expenses and sales and
finding out if they had made a profit or loss from their stalls.
This event was solely organized by the students under the
supervision of the teachers and management. It provided them with an opportunity to practically
apply the concepts which they had already learnt in their Maths classes and
enabled them to construct new understandings of the real world.
This event was also integrated with Value Education
which is an integral part of The City School’s learning and teaching process. They learnt cooperation, responsibility, honesty and team work along with
many other moral and ethical values.
