Microsoft Teams Online Interactive Classes

Dear Parents,
From 20th May 2020, The City School will be using Microsoft Teams platform as a “Learning Management System and for hosting online interactive classes”. All worksheets, assignments and online classes will be hosted on Microsoft Teams from 20th May 2020 from class 3 onwards. Google classroom service will be discontinued from 19th May 2020 (from class 3 onwards).
We have created email account for all students on CSN.EDU.PK domain to access the MS Teams platform, which will be the official “Learning Management System” of The City School as a policy.
Student’s email account: 251946.tcs@csn.edu.pk (Roll#.tcs@csn.edu.pk)
E-mail Account Password: Csn@123!
You are requested to perform the following steps after receiving the students email account information from your branch:
1. Access the http://www.office365.com and log on to your child’s email account by using the credentials provided by the school and perform the following steps:
a. Once you login, a window will appear on the screen where you have to select Pakistan time zone: (UTC +05:00 Islamabad, Karachi) from the drop down list.
b. On the next window, parents/students are required to change their email account password after the first login. It is recommended to note down the “updated password” at some place to avoid any confusion. Now log out from your email account.
c. Student/parent must login on MS teams with their email account and the password either by accessing http://teams.microsft.com website or by downloading the Microsoft Teams App from the Microsoft Store/iTunes App Store/Android Play store. You can also download the MS Teams Windows App when you login on http://teams.microsoft.com.
d. After logging on to the Microsoft Teams APP from the computer, tablet and cell phone student can access the uploaded content (worksheet, posts and assignments) in their class and can use calendar option/post section to join the online classes scheduled by different subject teachers.

Letter to the Parents
Dear Parents,
I am pleased to write to you to let you
know of our plans leading up to and following on from our intention to reopen schools from 4th
June, 2020. Please appreciate that this is in line with current government
advice which may change. We will let you know promptly if this is modified at
government level and we need to amend our arrangements.
Also I would like to re-emphasise that the
events of the last few months have been quite exceptional. They have provided unique
challenges for many schools including our own, as well as to our established
ways of life and work. Throughout this
time we at TCS have been very mindful of the well being and safety of our students
and the families from which they come. We will continue to exercise this
over-arching duty of care with absolute commitment to them in the way ahead.

Interactive links will continue
with students from all age groups until 22nd May when they will be discontinued
as the main means of teaching. However they will remain as important learning
resources into the future. They will also be available should the Corona Virus
or similar recur.
·
Classes will reopen for PG to
Grade 9 on 4th June, 2020
·
Please note that schools will
return to the established full timetables but with an earlier start at 7.30
a.m. with the exception of PG-KG who will start at 8:00 a.m.
·
There will be an online Virtual
Induction Programme for AS students starting on 4th May, 2020
·
Students in Grades 11- A2
return on 4th June, 2020
·
Those older students in Grades 10, 11 and AS who opted for Predicted
Grades in June and those who will be examined in October and November will
start a new academic session from 4th June, 2020
·
Please note that students in
Grades 10, 11 and A1 will be promoted automatically.
·
The curriculum from Week 10 –
16 will be reinforced and revisited for
students PG –Grade 9 from 4th June – 28th July , 2020
·
Study Packs will be available
for the next academic year in Mid July
·
School Based Internal
Assessments will take place between 14th -21st July, 2020
o
Please note these will involve
Grades 3-5 in English, Mathematics, Science and Urdu
o
Students in Grades 6-9 will
take assessments in all subjects
·
Those small number of Grade 8 students who have opted to be
reconsidered for the O level stream will
be required to show their improvement since the Mid Year examinations.
·
The schools will close for students
on 29th July, 2020 and re-open to begin the New Academic Year on 17th
August, 2020.
Please note that your schools will give
further clarification should you require it in due course. We very much hope
that all of our students will be looking forward to getting back into the
routines of coming to school regularly and continuing to build on the work they
have been involved in, while working with us from home. I am sure you would
like me to thank your children’s teachers for the many hours of work they have
put in to help all students deal with these difficult times. We all extend our
best wishes for a return to normal and to you and your families for a peaceful
and fulfilling Holy Month.

Kindly collect the adjusted Fee Challans with 20% discount from school between 11 am to 2 pm tomorrow, April 18, 2020. The due date is April 27, 2020 and validity date is April 30, 2020. You can deposit fee through deposit slip with PV number and Buyer Code in UBL, Bank Alfalah, or FINCA (online) on the basis of SMS with or without the fee challan.
If you have already paid Apr-2020 fee, 20% discount will be adjusted in the next bill.

We are pleased to inform you that in order to facilitate our students’ learning we are now starting online interactive classes on Microsoft Teams from Monday 13th April 2020.
The online interactive class schedule has been uploaded in Google Classroom. This schedule has the links for different classes and the students can join a class simply by clicking on the relevant link. If you have still not provided your child’s GMAIL account to school then please do that at the earliest, otherwise your child will not be able to attend the online classes.
These are difficult times and we are taking all possible steps to ensure that academic process continues without any disruption. Your support is very important for effective implementation of all TCS initiatives.

Online Classes Schedule April 2020
Dear Parents and Students,
Please note that online tests of core subjects will be conducted in the upcoming week from April 6th 2020 till April 9th 2020. Relevant material/worksheets will be uploaded on Google Classrooms along with revision classes.
Instructions:
1. Each student has to appear for the Online Virtual Test.
2. Most of the test will be MCQ based and time bound.
3. The teachers will upload the test on Google Classrooms 10 minutes before the starting time.
4. Students are expected to attempt the test with intellectual honestly and return the test at or before 1:00pm.
5. The instructions for submitting urdu test have been mentioned in the schedule below.
Time line:
Test will appear between 10:50 to 11:00
Time Duration: 11:00 am - 01.00 pm
Paper to be submitted: 01:00pm
For any queries or guidance, feel free to contact the subject teachers.
