Enriching field trips contribute to the development of students into civilized young
men and women who possess more knowledge about their surroundings, have
stronger critical-thinking skills and have a greater taste for consuming art and
culture. Students of Prep Boys Section were taken to Nueplex Cinema on Friday,
9 th November 2018 to watch movies related to their curriculum. Class 6 was shown

World Teachers' Day, held annually on October 5 since 1994, represents a
significant token of the awareness, understanding, and appreciation displayed
for the vital contributions that teachers make to education and development. The Prep Boys section celebrated the teachers’ day in
full zest where an assembly was organised by the students to recognize the
tireless efforts of their teachers. Special cards prepared by the students were
presented to all teachers along with chocolates to sweeten up their day.

STEM for teaching
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEM is important because
it pervades every part of our lives. To succeed in this new information-based and highly
technological society, students need to develop their capabilities in STEM to levels much beyond
what was considered adequate in the past.STEM activities provide hands-on and minds-on lessons
for the students. The City School Darakhshan Campus believes in providing our students with the
latest technologies for effective learning. The Math faculty of the Prep Boys Section has been
conducting various sessions in the new STEM lab engaging technology to make learning both fun
and interesting which helps the students to do much more than just learn through traditional
methods.

Maths Carnival
The Prep Boys Section
organized a “Mathematics Carnival” on Friday, September 28, 2018 . The aim of
this event was to promote the relevance of Mathematics in our everyday lives
and to strengthen the entrepreneural and problem solving skills of the students
and also to inculcate the values of team work, cooperation, tolerance,
responsibility and honesty.
This event was solely organized by
the students under the supervision of the teachers. Students formed groups and
put up food & games stalls of their own choice. The students were highly
motivated, and exhibited enthusiasm, confidence and team spirit. It provided
them with an opportunity to practically apply the concepts which they have
already learnt in their Maths classes and enabled them to construct new
understanding of the real world.
The whole ground reverberated with energy and the songs played by
the Dedication Stall added to the fun filled atmosphere. The students not only
enjoyed the savory food but had fun on the stalls like Lucky Draw, PS4 Station etc.
This was a charity event
where all the proceeds collected will be donated to a charitable organization.

Independence Day Celebration
Value : Love and Care
for our Motherland
Independence is one of the biggest
blessings of God. Pakistan’s Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic
zest at the Prep Boys Section, Darakhshan Campus.
A
patriotic dance performance was staged by the students dressed up in white
shalwar kameez and green stoles on Faakhir’s “Tere Bina Dilna Lagay” to help
the crowd get into the spirit of independence.
Interesting
facts about Pakistan were shared by the students on the “Journey of Pakistan”
in which they also expressed the need to put in individual efforts to make
Pakistan a better place to live in on a global level inculcating the values of
love and care for our motherland.
In
the end, ‘Ye Watan Tumhara Hay’, the legendary patriotic song was sung by the
staff with live music which mesmerized the crowd.
